On that day Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici signed the “Family Pact”, the agreement by which she donated to Florence the artistic heritage collected over the centuries by the dynasty, stipulating that nothing could ever be removed from the city.
“The art was to remain in Florence — for the ornament of the State, for the benefit of the Public and to attract the curiosity of Foreigners.” One of our four themed rooms is dedicated to this gesture, a tribute to the figures who made Florence immortal.
